The team in checks start off against Cameroon, with Germany and Colombia to come.
"We are looking forward to it," said playmaker Marković, who also plays for BritLeague champions London Town. "The new season starts in March for most of us, who play in the BritLeague and the ELF, so we've only got three months to show what we've got before June."
"But we'll be ready to show what we're made of on the world stage."
Croatia impressed people at EuroCup '08, making it to the semi-finals playing some attractive, attacking football.
However, Marković's international teammate Vedran Đukić has played down talks of Croatia winning the World Cup, despite the team currently in at 11/2 to win it all.
"We don't want the favourites tag, that will just put pressure on us," said Barnsworth defender Đukić.
"If we do well, like get to the semi-finals, we'll see what happens."
German midfielder Sergio Steiner says expectations are high for his team, but admits it will be difficult for them to cope with the pressure.
"It's going to be a very intense pressure-cooker for us," Steiner told German TV.
"In EuroCup 2008, our expectations were so high, but we lost every game in our group simply because we just couldn't deal with the pressure."
"Croatia - we played them in that tournament - and we were completely terrible. But that's the pressure of playing a talented side like them."
"Next year, we'll try to find a way to deal with that pressure."
